architectural DESIGN

Hi, my name is Alex Correia, but most people call me “AL”.

I have been an active architectural designer for nearly 10 years, working on both national and international projects. Being primarily self-taught, before entering the Rhode Island School of Design’s B.Arch Program, I learned and refined my skills through hands-on experience, often self-performing the fabrication and construction of spaces and fixtures I have designed. This has provided an invaluable understanding of the fundamentals and realities needed to create and execute successful designs, and most importantly, mitigate risk.

I currently live in Rhode Island, where I am enrolled at RISD as a first-generation, non-traditional student, while also maintaining an active freelance design and consulting practice.

Previous projects include: Rory’s / Maruichi Market (RI), Community Theater (NY), Dune Brothers Seafood (RI), Capsule MFG (CA), Throne Watches (NYC), Cornish Associates (RI),  Ribbon Real Estate (NYC), Tesla (National), High-Way Drive-In (NY), Run For Cover Records (MA), Go Puff (NYC), David Geffen Hall (NYC), Foxtrot Market (National), Gum Hair Salon (RI), Bale Retail Store (RI), Team Rayvn (National), Irregardless Biscuit Co (RI), Providence Country Day School (RI), Ring Bros Market (MA), Mashpee Commons (MA) as well as residential projects in Providence, RI.
